_ECLECTIC CHARMIf there is one thing I love about Mediterranean weddings is their perfect light, and this destination wedding in Hydra, sets the tone for carefree summer days, floating from self-imposing, stone paved streets, to adobes with boldly colored doors (that much remind me of Saint Tropez), to an immense amount of space revealed in the sun, to flower pots and ancient groves of trees everywhere one turns to look. Hydra is avant-garde. That is the general consensus.A peek into a well-lighted bridal chamber, where a stunning bride-to-be lies on her bed writing her vows. Hidden around the corner is a selection of delicate flowers carrying the wedding bands and her engagement diamond. In her morning laid-back chic floral shirt, she will welcome her friends, share toasts, laughs and little secrets, and when she steps out of the chamber again she will dazzle in a minimal, bare-back, double-piece gown, so effortlessly elegant. The backyard of the cottage is already filled with cheerful, beautiful ladies and the bridal party is on.The groom is no idle man either, carefully selected cigars, wine, and champagne for the gentlemen is the perfect treat to start off this special day. Due to their Greek heritage they love entertaining and being around their people, and it is so natural to share all the wedding day excitement from very early in the day.Soon the streets will be filled with music as the bride is escorted by family and friends to the orthodox church, and in a flash (here's a little photography humor for you) the stunning couple will be Mr. and Mrs. practically showered in rice. It is no surprise that their presence, which balanced simplicity, delight and finesse had everyone on their way so charmed.
