A great love story in Monemvasia!I was first introduced to Giota and Lebon 5 years ago at a wedding in Nauplio, as the couple's bridesmaid and best man. Though our aquaintance had been short, they did contact me soon after when it was time for them to tie the knot.The wedding ceremony would expectedly be held in Volos, the bride's hometown, as is accustomed in Greece; perhaps because Monemvasia excercises such a tremendous power to the heart, or maybe because Giota, who had had the opportunity to explore the place during her medical practice, had been smitten, the bride's mind was made up. Monemvasia would be the place for her and her beloved to exchange their vows.We arrived in Monemvasia the day before the wedding and decided to take a casual stroll in the castle, walk through its charming, picturesque alleys, take a few pre-wedding photos, while at sunset friends and family gathered at Kelia Hotel for a glass of wine and some fingerfood.Giota's bridal preparations begain early the next morning at the hotel suite, while Lebon and his boys watched a basketball game by the pool.It's so different between girls and boys, right? Giota’s mother, as the wedding planner was more than anxious to have everything ready and perfect on time, the bridesmaids were full of joy jumping on the bed and drinking bubbly, the boys hanging casually sharing a cool drink. But I guess that is what a truly fine wedding day is all about, everyone having their share of fun.Giota is always smiley and this innate happiness and kindness of hers is what make her look like a little girl, but when she got into her wedding gown she immediately transformed into a lady, radiating happiness and charisma.Lebon was waiting for his bride in the little chapel inside the castle, welcomed her with a sweet kiss. At the end of the ceremony Lebon was obviously more relaxed and he had all his spirits up and ready for the photoshoot. The sun was setting again and the party was about to start with a long buffet and some good old traditional greek songs.
