ROMANTIC RUSTIC WEDDING INSPIRATION

An editorial shoot in Parparoussis winery.

The Mediterranean always excites fantasy since  not only it is native to lore, legend, culture and ancient history, but because it also happens to be one (if not the number one) of the most blessed, most graceful places on earth. When one considers the Mediterranean escape, their mind overflows with images of beaches, whitewashed adobes and ample sunlight.

Attempting to go deeper into what the Mediterranean way of life means, one cannot but fathom one of its most vital, most vigorous aspects... its luscious soil and well ... gardens.

Think of ancient roots, tubers, succulent citrus fruit, viticulture, herbs, buds, shrubs, perennials, gray-green foliage,  boldly colored flowers used for perfume extraction ... think of tile, hardscapes, brick, clay, patios, courtyards, low walls, overheads, a bit wheathered but breathing styles , stonework, urns and terra-cotta pots... think greens and yellows and oranges and fuchsias and purples and earthy tones.

I couldn't help but embrace the urge to incorporate all these magical elements into a wedding editorial, inspired by and dedicated to the lush flora of the Mediterranean garden, which can host the most romantic weddings and can provide for great flexibility.

I truly adored my shoot location, the  Parparoussi Estate !!! With a family-sustained winery and amazing ornate details, reminding me of a past era, of well, warm-lit afternoons, when life was unruffled but at the same time, energetic, emotional and mannerly. My so talented friend Anais from La Fete worked miracles setting this fresh, tile-inspired table, with exquisite menus, invitations and treats. Embroidery and a magnificent candelabrum set on 1920's mahogany buffet gave this shoot a distinct era air. Not to mentioned my peacock visitors ... Nothing spells romantic love more than that, does it ?
